Examining Today’s CBT Screening Updates

Twenty-five years after 9/11, computer-based training (CBT) remains a critical tool for preparing aviation security screeners to identify increasingly sophisticated threats. Screening technologies has evolved from traditional 2-D X-ray systems to advanced 3-D imaging and full-body scanners, driving the need for more realistic, high-fidelity training environments. Modern CBT programs help screeners build and maintain detection skills through immersive simulations, adaptive learning tools and standardized training approaches that mirror real-world checkpoint operations.

Battelle has partnered with STI with the goal of maximizing the benefit of training for every screener who uses Battelle’s screener training platform: ProDetect.
