History & Experience
Battelle has played a major role in key U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) initiatives on carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) since the mid-1990s, starting with some of the earliest studies funded by the DOE and steadily progressing into a commercial
program involved in all facets of the CO2 storage lifecycle.
Collectively, Battelle has managed and safely executed more than 50 CCUS projects. Our projects have involved unique, public-private partnerships, as well as international collaborative
efforts including South Africa, China, Mexico, Japan, Germany and Indonesia.
In the process, the Battelle team has become one of the most experienced in the world, conducting almost $300 million worth of CCUS work. View some of our noteworthy
