NOTICE! The 2021 Sediments Conference has been postponed until January 24-27, 2022. The rescheduled event will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, at the OMNI Nashville.

The Conference Office thanks you for your patience and understanding as Battelle explored all available options for the 2021 Conference that would be in the best interest of the health and safety of all attendees.

Technical Program. We do not anticipate major changes to the technical program and a revised Call for Abstracts will not be published, however, the abstract portal will be reopened for new submissions. Opportunity will be given to update or withdraw previously submitted abstracts.



Abstract Submission Information


NEW Abstracts. NEW (not previously submitted) abstract submissions will be accepted beginning February 22, 2021, and will be due June 30, 2021.

Previously Submitted Abstracts. If you submitted an abstract for the original 2021 Sediments Conference dates and you would like to update your submission, please contact the Conference Office ( for instructions. Please DO NOT submit a previously submitted abstract as a NEW abstract.

Other Important Reminders

  • Registration Requirement. All presenters, session chairs, and panelists are expected to register before the Conference and pay the technical-program registration fees. No financial assistance is available to support registration or other costs of attending the Conference.
  • "Co-presenters" not permitted. Each presentation is to be given by one person, and all correspondence will be sent to that person.
  • Visas. If you require a visa to travel to the U.S., please begin the visa application process immediately; the placement email you received should serve to document your scheduled appearance at the Conference. Please contact the Conference Office ( if you require additional documentation.
  • Presentation Content Approval. If additional approvals are required (management, coauthor, client, or other) to give the presentation and/or to have the materials included in the proceedings, request such approvals as soon as possible.
