Battelle has won an Associated Contractor Agreement for a new Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Epigenetic Characterization and Observation (ECHO) program. Battelle to Validate New Fire Suppression Foams for Dep’t of Defense
Battelle researchers have embarked on a project for the United States Department of Defense’s (DoD) environmental research programs to examine commercial, off-the-shelf, fluorine-free aqueous film forming foams to determine whether they meet military specifications for fire suppression. The research is funded by the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP), under their initiatives in per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) research. -

Battelle to Continue Support of CDC Vaccine Research
It’s flu season, and Battelle has won a two-year contract to continue supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) research on vaccines for influenza strains. The contract, known as Innovation and Expansion of Influenza Candidate Vaccine Virus Development, will help CDC add to its vaccine seed stockpile for any novel flu virus that has potential to become widespread. The goal is to produce candidate vaccine viruses that meet the rigorous quality requirements for use by vaccine manufacturers to produce influenza vaccines. -

Battelle Supports American Heart Association with Three-Year Grant
For 90 years, Battelle and its employees have been dedicated to making a positive impact on society. On National Philanthropy Day, Battelle announces a grant of $600,000 to the American Heart Association to support signature events and programs of the American Heart Association in Central Ohio (AHA) and in Battelle’s regional locations across the country. The grant will be distributed during the next three years and adds to the $7.1 million that Battelle donated to education and philanthropic causes during the past fiscal year.
