  • Gabe Meister

    Research Leader
    Gabe Meister is a Sr. Scientist with 20 years of experience working in the discovery and preclinical phases of vaccine and drug development. Dr. Meister has led multiple programs at Battelle that have resulted in FDA approval of novel therapeutics for the treatment of rare and life-threatening diseases. Most recently Dr. Meister leads a diverse group of scientists and engineers in developing novel drug delivery technologies.

  • Steve Huckaby

    Principal Mechanical Engineer

    Mr. Huckaby has over 28 years of experience as a mechanical engineer focused on medical device design and development. At Battelle, his work includes product definition and concept generation, requirements definition, detail mechanical design and analysis, electromechanical system layout and integration, verification and validation testing, and manufacturing transition and follow-on support.

  • Corrie Bennison

    Program Manager

    Ms. Bennison is a Program Manager in Battelle’s Medical Device group. She has over 17 years of medical device product development experience. These projects have included a range of disciplines and various phases of product development such as early feasibility, human centric design, verification, and validation. Her past work includes design and development of infusion and dialysis pumps, a urine analysis system, insulin injectors, auto-injectors, patch pumps, sensing systems, and neurotechnology devices.

  • Tony Duong, Ph.D.

    Lead Drug Delivery Scientist
    Dr. Duong has 14 years of experience performing polymer and lipid nano/microparticle drug delivery research and building agile biomedical research teams with competitive intellectual property strategies. His experiences in academia and industry have allowed him to develop a unique understanding of nanoscience combined with a knowledge of the patent landscape to form competitive intellectual property strategies. At Battelle, he has led technical efforts on several programs, bringing together business development and technical teams spanning national security, environment and agriculture, and heath.

  • Thom Haubert

    Director of Mechanical Engineering

    Thom has 34 years of experience in providing engineering development and project management services to a variety of Battelle programs. His expertise is in mechanical design of medical and commercial product development, and machine design. He has led the development of products from concept to manufactured design. His technical focus has been on product and machine design, component testing and Design for Manufacturing techniques. He currently manages the Innovation Division in Battelle’s Medical Device Solutions group and holds 34 US patents for his designs.
